Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2023 will be conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur on behalf of XAMI on January86, 2023. This is one of the popular MBA entrance exam for admission to XLRI and its associated institutes.
Xat 2023 Exam pattern has been changed from this year:-
Essay writing section has been removed from this year.
XAT 2023 Paper Pattern
Earlier, the XAT question paper consists of two sections. Part I consist of decision making, verbal and logical skills, quantitative skills and data interpretation and the second part consist of General Knowledge and essay writing. The essay writing section has been removed from this year.
From this year(2023) XAT exam will be having only one part consisting of 100 MCQs. Now there will be 4 sections in the question paper i.e. Decision Making, Verbal & Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation and General Knowledge.
Marking Scheme
Each question carries one mark which means for every correct answer candidate will get one mark. There will be negative marking for every incorrect answers i.e 0.25 marks or 1/4th of the total marks of a question will be deducted. unattempted questions also have negative marking. Last year, after 8 questions when unanswered , there was a deduction of 0.05 marks for each unattempted question. This figure may change this year as it was 12 last year.

Removal of essay writing section will definitely affect the preparation strategy of XAT aspirants who were prepared according to the old pattern. But this may be a positive point for the technical background candidates as well as for those who are weaker in comprehensive writing.
