About TISSNET:
Tata Institute of Social Science conducts National Eligibility Test to offer the admission into the postgraduate program in one of its campuses. TISSNET is conducted in an online mode. The TISS National Entrance Test in national level exam conducted for admission to as many as 53 post graduate programmes from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati, and Hyderabad campuses and other locations for the 2020-2022 batch. The flagship program offered for admission through TISSNET is TISS Mumbai's MA in Human Resource Management and Labor Relations.TISSNET 2020 is going to held on 4th January 2020 (Saturday) between 2 pm and 3:40 pm.
Last date to apply for TISS NET 2020 is now extended to November 30, 2019 in online mode and the last date to submit application by post is December 3, 2019.
Tata Institute of Social Science, Mumbai has introduced an additional test for candidates seeking admission to its management courses. Candidates who have applied for MA in Human Resource Management & Labour Relations (HRM&LR) or MA in Organisation Development, Change and Leadership (ODCL) courses are now required to appear for TISS-Management Admissions Test (TISS-MAT) in addition to the TISS NET 2020 scheduled on January 4, 2020. TISS-MAT will be conducted immediately after the TISS NET exam.
TISSNET Eligibility Criteria :
The eligibility criteria for TISSNET 2020 exam is given below:
1. To become eligible for TISSNET 2020 the candidate should have bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
2. The candidate can apply who will successfully complete their final year eligible degree (including all examinations and internships, if applicable) by Monday, June 8, 2020.
3. They must have passed in all subjects of first two-years (four semesters) of their bachelor degree at the time of filling TISSNET application form. Candidates appearing for final year examination of four-year bachelor degree must have passed in all subjects up to sixth semester.
4. Candidates shortlisted for personal interview are required to produce original certificate and mark sheet on the date of personal interview. Those who are in the final year of the degree are required to produce the mark sheets of all previous semesters.
5. There is no age limit for appearing in TISS-NET 2020 exam or for admission to any of the course offered through TISSNET.
6.Only candidates applying for Master of Arts in (Organization Development, Change and Leadership) should have at least 2 years of work experience in any field (after graduation).
TISSNET Syllabus :
The difficulty level of TISSNET is easy to moderate. Among all of the three sections, the general awareness section is considered most difficult. It also carries the highest weightage of 40%. We have listed below the relevant topics that you should cover while preparing for this exam.

TISSMAT Exam Pattern
TISS, Mumbai has introduced TISSMAT-an Entrance Exam for admission for management courses. The exam pattern of TISSMAT 2020 is different from TISSNET 2020. TISS MAT 2020 question paper will consist of three sections with 15 questions in each one of them.

Note: Unlike TISS NET which doesn’t have a provision for negative marking, there will be 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer in TISS-MAT.
TISSNET 2020 Exam Pattern for Pre-interview Test
After the TISSNET results are announced, the qualified candidates will be required to give the Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview on the basis of the TISSNET merit list.

Q. How many courses are offered by TISS?
A. The TISS offers 53 courses across four campuses and other study centres.
Q. If I want to do MBA, Can I apply for TISS?
A. You can apply for its management related course known as M.A. in Human Resource and Labour Relations.
Q. Can I know something about TISS Mumbai?
A. The TataInstitute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 as the Sir Dorabji Tata Graduate School of Social Work. In 1944, it has been renamed as the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The year 1964 was an key landmark in the history of the Institute, when it was declared Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC), 1956.
Q. What is the eligibility criteria for applying for TISS-NET 2020?
A. a)Candidates having a bachelor's degree with minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent from a recognized university are eligible to apply
b) At the time of applying candidates studying in 3 year degree program should have passed in all the subjects from the 1st to 4th semesters and candidates studying in 4 year degree program should have passed in all the subjects from 1st to 6th semester.
c) Only those Candidates who will be able to complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor's Degree examinations by June 8, 2020 are eligible to apply.
Q. How many times can one appear for the TISSNET exam?
A. There is no fixed no. of attempts for TISSNET exam. A candidate can appear as many times he wishes to.
Q. What is the cut-off marks for TISSNET exam?
A. Yes, minimum cut-off marks for written test is 35% (for SC/ST) and 45% (for others). Though, scoring mere qualifying marks in the written test does not assure a seat for a programme.
Q. Is TISS Affiliated to any University?
A.No, this is a “Deemed to be University” established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
Q. Can the form be filled offline?
A. No, only the candidates living in inaccessible areas having no internet connection can submit the offline forms.
Q. What is the application form fee?
A. The application fees is Rs.1030 (if being payed by Credit card/ Debit card/ Net Banking) . Candidate has to pay this amount for every program he/she applies for. A candidate can apply to max of 3 programs. For SC/ST applicants it is Rs 500 per program.
Q. . Which exam scores are accepted by TISS?
A. TISS accepts only TISSNET scores. The result of exams like CAT / MAT / CET / GRE / GMAT is not acceptable.
Q.What is the selection procedure of TISS?
A. The selection process consists of the entrance exam, personal interview test or essay writing, and interview.
Q. What are the no. of seats available for MA in HRM and LR program?
A. There are 60 seats for MA in HRM and HRM and LR program.
Q. Does TISS follow policy of reservation?
A. Yes, is provides 15%, 7.5% and 27% reservation to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe and Other Backward Classes (non-creamy layer) for each of the programs. In addition, supernumerary seats are allocated to Persons With Disabilities (PWD) {3%} , Kashmiri migrants {1%} and children of the Armed Forces Employees {5%}.

Exam Day Guidelines:
1. The candidate needs to carry the TISSNET admit card to the exam centre on the day of the exam.
2. The Candidate should also carry a legal and original photo ID proof (PAN card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/ Aadhar Card)
to allotted TISSNET exam centre.
3.The Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least 1 hour before the exam timings to avoid any last-minute rush.
4. Candidates are also advised to carry at least two passport size photographs to the exam centre. This should be identical to the one uploaded during the application process.
