There is no change in CAT 2022 Eligibility Criteria for General and Reserved category candidates. CAT 2022 exam date is November 27, 2022 and the last date to apply is September 14, 2022. IIM Kozhikode CAT 2022 Notification released on August 3, 2022 in newspapers has kept the CAT 2022 eligibility criteria similar to last year criteria. The only change in CAT eligibility 2022 is the date of qualifying exam. The CAT eligibility defines different percentage of marks in the qualifying graduation degree for different category of candidates. However, there is no age bar for either category candidates to apply for CAT 2022.

 

CAT Eligibility for General& NC-OBC Candidates

 

·         The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.

·         Candidates in final year of Graduation additionally qualified to apply for CAT 2022.

·         If selected, the final year candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if she/he submits Completion of a degree certificate by June 30, 2020, from the Principal/ Registrar of the College/Institute.

·         Candidates who have completed any of these professional degrees (CA/CS/ICWA) with 50% marks.

 

CAT Eligibility for SC/ST/PwD Candidates

 

Reserved class candidates applying for CAT 2022 are eligible if they qualify any one of the following qualifications:

·         Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) class candidates need 45% marks in graduation. 

·         Candidates in the final year of Graduation are additionally qualified to apply for CAT 2022.

·         Candidates who have completed any of these professional degrees (CA/CS/ICWA) with 45% marks.

·         CAT eligibility does not inflict any age bar to appear in CAT 2022 exam.

·         Eligibility for CAT further enables you to appear in CAT 2022 regardless of whether you have done graduation in an old system of 2 years graduation gave the degree is UGC recognized

·         The candidate applying for CAT 2022 must possess one of the following CAT eligibility criteria 2022 -

  1.  Completed Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 percent of marks,
  2.  Completed professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with required percentage marks, or
  3. Should be in the final year of Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50 percentage

·         The percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as pursued by the respective University/Institution.

·         In the case of grades / CGPA, the conversion to percentage marks would be based on the procedure as ensured by the particular University/ institution in accordance with the CAT exam eligibility criteria.

·         If any University/institution affirms that there is no scheme for the conversion of CGPA into an equal percentage of marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100 as per the CAT 2022 eligibility criteria.

·         Mere fulfillment of minimum CAT eligibility criteria 2022 will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs.

·         One of the key points prescribed by IIMs in CAT eligibility 2022 is that the candidates must declare and maintain a valid and unique email account and a contact number throughout the selection process.

 

Clashing point in IIM and CAT Eligibility Criteria

Throughout the years the qualification for CAT has pretty much stayed same despite the fact that with certain adjustments in CAT test qualification since 2014, IIMs MBA qualification and CAT test qualification criteria have faced few conflicting focuses.

·         If your Graduation is not recognized by UGC/AICTE/MHRD-Govt. of India, You are not eligible to appear for CAT 2022.

 

How to convert CGPA/Grades to Percentage of Marks


To determine CAT Eligibility in case of CGPA is given and no percentage of marks is shared on the marks-sheet, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate would be calculated based on the practice as followed by the particular University/Institution. The conversion to percentage of marks from Grades/CGPA would be based on the procedure as certified by the respective University/Institution. If any University/institution affirms that there is no scheme for the conversion of CGPA into an equal percentage of marks, the equivalence would be established by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100 as per the CAT 2022 eligibility criteria.

The Eligibility criteria for CAT exam have not been much changed by IIM Kozhikode for CAT 2022. CAT 2022 Eligibility criteria include some aspirant friendly changes.
