Vishwakarma University was established on 3rd May 2017 by the Bansilal Ramnath Agarwal Charitable Trust (BRACT). While VU is relatively young as a university, its roots run deep. BRACT’s first educational initiative, the Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT), was founded in 1983. Over the years, the trust has expanded into a powerhouse of education with 17 institutes, offering programs across engineering, management, marine sciences, schools, and value-added learning. Today, the group serves more than 17,000 students and employs over 1500 full-time faculty members.
Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), VU is a state-private university under the Government of Maharashtra Act No. XXXVIII. It has full authority to admit students, create its own curriculum, conduct examinations, and award degrees.
