Candidates need to fill out an online form with personal and work experience details to participate in these rounds.

The Essay Writing, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview rounds will take place at various locations across India, including Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Mumbai, in January/February. Selected students will be notified via email about the schedule for these rounds.

For candidates applying from foreign countries, NRIs, and PIOs, admission is based on the GMAT score. These candidates can apply for IIFT admission until March 31.

IIFT Counselling Process

IIFT does not have a traditional counselling process. Instead, the institute conducts a personality assessment test for candidates who meet the IIFT cut-off. This test includes Essay Writing, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview, through which candidates are evaluated based on several key parameters:

  1. Class 10th and 12th scores
  2. Graduation scores
  3. Work experience

Here’s a closer look at each of the assessment tests:

  • IIFT Essay Writing: A 20-minute test where candidates are given a topic to write a short essay. The group of eight students is provided with 5 minutes to think and 15 minutes to write.

  • IIFT Group Discussion: A 30-40 minute session where a group of candidates discusses the pros and cons of a given topic. Each candidate is allowed to speak for a minute before the discussion becomes open to all group members.

  • IIFT Personal Interview: In the personal interview, candidates are asked questions related to their academic history, work experience, and hobbies.
