IIFT does not have a traditional counselling process. Instead, the institute conducts a personality assessment test for candidates who meet the IIFT cut-off. This test includes Essay Writing, Group Discussion, and Personal Interview, through which candidates are evaluated based on several key parameters:
Here’s a closer look at each of the assessment tests:
IIFT Essay Writing: A 20-minute test where candidates are given a topic to write a short essay. The group of eight students is provided with 5 minutes to think and 15 minutes to write.
IIFT Group Discussion: A 30-40 minute session where a group of candidates discusses the pros and cons of a given topic. Each candidate is allowed to speak for a minute before the discussion becomes open to all group members.
IIFT Personal Interview: In the personal interview, candidates are asked questions related to their academic history, work experience, and hobbies.
