IIM Nagpur, IIM Jammu, IIM Sirmaur Direct Admission through CAT Scores
IIM Nagpur, IIM Jammu, and IIM Sirmaur have made it easier for candidates to secure admission through CAT scores without the traditional GD-PI process. If you have opted for these IIMs while filling out your CAT registration and have been shortlisted, you will receive an email asking you to reconfirm your interest. Once you express your interest, you will be considered for final admission based on your CAT scores, academic profile, and work experience.
These three IIMs, among the newer institutions, have decided to directly offer admission without a GD-PI round, simplifying the selection process for prospective students.
Among the newer IIMs, IIM Amritsar, IIM BodhGaya, and IIM Sambalpur participated in the Common Admission Process (CAP) for selecting candidates, which involved WAT and PI rounds. However, IIM Sirmaur, IIM Nagpur, and IIM Jammu opted out of the CAP process and instead chose to offer direct admission based solely on CAT scores, academic profiles, and work experience.
IIM Nagpur has clarified that its admission process does not involve a Personal Interview (PI) round. The selection criteria are based on CAT scores, past academic performance, and work experience. Once candidates are shortlisted based on their CAT scores, they will receive an email inviting them to reconfirm their interest in joining the PGP program at IIM Nagpur.
The final merit list will be compiled based on the following criteria:
IIM Nagpur has shared the following sectional and overall CAT score requirements for shortlisting candidates:
The final merit list will be generated after considering the CAT score, past academic performance, and work experience.
IIM Jammu has also adopted a direct admission process, eliminating the need for interviews. Candidates who have opted for IIM Jammu during the CAT registration process and meet the required CAT score criteria will be considered for final selection based on a merit list.
The selection criteria for IIM Jammu are as follows:
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their composite scores, which will include the above factors, and those meeting the required percentile thresholds will be offered admission in the order of their merit.
IIM Sirmaur, like IIM Nagpur and IIM Jammu, does not require a GD-PI round for admission. Instead, candidates will be evaluated based on their CAT scores and profiles, including their past academic performance and work experience.
IIM Sirmaur’s selection criteria include:
Candidates who meet the required percentile for their category will be considered for admission based on their composite score, and offers will be made accordingly.
If you’ve scored well in CAT and are interested in pursuing your MBA at one of the newer IIMs, you may still have a chance to secure admission through these direct processes, even without a high percentile. It’s important to reconfirm your interest once you receive the email from these institutions. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to study at IIM Nagpur, IIM Jammu, or IIM Sirmaur if you meet the required criteria.
