TISSNET Exam: Important Dates & Application Process

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) conducts the TISSNET exam, a National Entrance Test (NET) for admission to various master's programs across its campuses in Mumbai, Tuljapur, Hyderabad, Guwahati, IMHST Chennai, MHAT Calicut, and G-SET Ranchi. While TISS does not offer an MBA program, its MA in Human Resources Management and Labour Relations (HRM & LR) at the Mumbai campus is considered equivalent to an MBA in HR.

Application Process

Applicants must apply online through the official TISS portal before the deadline. A maximum of three programs can be chosen across two campuses or centers. Before applying, candidates should carefully review the eligibility criteria.

Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC with an annual family income below Rs. 2.5 lakh (SC/ST) or Rs. 1 lakh (OBC) are required to pay Rs. 250 (plus Rs. 50 as a processing fee for SBI challan payment).

Steps to Apply for TISSNET

Online Application Process

  1. Visit the official website of TISS.
  2. Create an account using your email ID and password.
  3. Log in and fill in personal and academic details.
  4. Upload scanned copies of your passport-sized photograph, documents, and signature.
  5. Proceed to payment and complete the application fee transaction.
  6. Review all details and submit the application.

Offline Application Process

  1. Obtain a printed copy of the application form from TISS.
  2. Register for the exam and send a request via speed post along with the application fee to: Assistant Registrar (Academic), Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar, Mumbai - 400088.
  3. The applicant will receive the form within a week via speed post.
  4. Fill in the form carefully and attach attested copies of all required documents.
  5. Send the completed application form via speed post to the above-mentioned address.
  6. After submission, applicants will receive admit card details via their registered email.
